The title of this piece is inspired by the original book “In the Skin of a Lion”, which I read back in university.

This artwork describes how as a woman, we are always wearing a mask to portray a stronger figure in public. I chose the mask of a lion, instead of a lioness because I feel that masculinity is often associated with strength.

It’s time to unmask ourselves and reveal to the world our inner strength. Strength can come in many forms- it can be both soft and vulnerable.
